65° North, 18° West. This is the home of 320.000 people, an island so rich in natural beauty you would not find anywhere else. Iceland.

I went to Iceland in november 2014 with a friend of mine. I was lucky she got a drivers license, because I have an eye disability which means I'm nearly blind and so not allowed to drive a car - which is essential when you are visiting Iceland. Our plan was to discover the island on our own, sleeping in a small van which was just enough for the two of us. I prepared a google map in advance so we don't loose any time on searching for certain locations. As we went in november, the days up there are really short and we like 6-7 hours of light a days - if there was any light, because most of the time we had skies covered with clouds, storms, rain or hail. So, it was that weather you would expect when you go there right before winter hits the coast. But anyways, I had the opportunity to take some great shots with a very atmospheric look. I tried to work this certain atmosphere out in the postproduction even more to create a special, unique look to my travel shots. Nevertheless, next time I will visit Iceland in spring or summer to enjoy longer days and green grass along the roads of Landmannalaugar - my bucketlist place number 1 in Iceland.

So this is part of a series I'm looking forward to release online where I put a lot of effort in the post production. These shots show you some different  parts of Iceland as well as famous places you might know like Kirkjufell, Skogafoss or the lagoons of Jökullsarlon.

This project is also my application for the Passport to Creativity - a contest hosted by Adobe to give young creatives the opportunity to reach out to remote areas and get inspirations from there. In my case, it would mean another series of awesome pictures. So please spread the word!
