I made this project for ICN Cultural Production to commemorate Indonesian independence day. A little bit about ICN, it is an organization established by Nanyang Technological University's Indonesian students and the mission is to bring new perspective to Indonesian folklores and history in Singapore.
Here in this project, I tried to emphasise on the circumstances and the feelings of Indonesian people on the independence day, rather than only on Indonesia itself. Therefore, I'm focusing on how not to draw people attention only on one thing, but on every part of this illustration. Besides that, I had to collect a number of references, from the architectural to interior designs during that era, so that I'm able to put as many details as possible, while keeping it historically accurate.

"The Proclamation of Indonesian Independence was read at 10.00 a.m. on Friday, 17 August 1945 by Ir. Soekarno. The declaration marked the start of the diplomatic and armed resistance of the Indonesian National Revolution, fighting against the forces of the Netherlands and pro-Dutch civilians"
