‘Kopru Project’ is a composition of stencil-graffiti-pasteup artworks in Istanbul aiming to act as a sort of bridge that combines cultures widely. At the same time, the project contains various artistict manners such as music and documentary screening to create that bridge in a different way. By the mediation of Arts Club and the support of Bogazici University, project has started on 19th November. We invited street artists called as Frz, Ill,Mad, Icy and Sot from Iran; Canavar, Ares, Gvsk from Turkey and Zota from Greece. They performed their art in North Campus and Saritepe Campus in the university. The main object of the project was combining views of different cultures within a street art form and in the end presenting these views for the students of the university and making them visible on students’ daily life setting. Process of creation went on both day and night, keeping up with fast pace of student life in all campuses. Even though the event started in front of the walls of campus buildings, artists frequently stepped out from the university to meet and get into a diaolog with the streets of İstanbul. They expressed themselves in different neighbourhoods of the city, leaving their marks for us to remind the meaning of the connection. More over a lot of students worked together in harmony with the artists to create these mind opening pieces. Especially the renowned turkish artists Canavar, Ares and Gvsk in order to show their support and respect to the project, joined the team at the last stop of the event at Kilyos. Colloboration of the artists on the cold winter nights of Kilyos shore provided the most amazing artistic expressions of the project and built the last part of the bridge. In the end what remains was a colorful dialog of the street artists of the new World, changing the cold grey walls of both buildings and peoples forever. The project ended on 11st December and even though one of the artworks had met cencorship in the last days of project. The artists and free minded students of Boğaziçi gave a beautiful reply to this cencoring mentality by projecting a documentary about the History of Iranian street art for all and watch the movie together in peace.

Köprü Projesi’ İstanbul’da geniş çapta kültürleri birleştiren bir nevi köprü görevi görecek bir stencil-graffiti-pasteup çalışması bütünüdür. Aynı zamanda müzik ve belgesel çalışmalarını da içererek, farklı sanatsal araçları kullanarak da bir köprü oluşturmak amaçlanmıştır. Güzel Sanatlar Kulübü aracılığı ve Boğaziçi Üniversitesi’nin desteği ile 19 Kasım 2016 tarihinde başlayan projede konuk ettiğimiz İran’dan Frz, Ill, Mad, Icy and Sot; Türkiye’den Canavar, Ares ve Gvsk; Yunanistan’dan ise Zota mahlaslı sokak sanatçıları Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Kuzey Kampüs ve son adımda Kilyos Sarıtepe Kampüs’teki duvarlarda sanatlarını icra etmişlerdir. Projenin amacı, sokak sanatı aracılığıyla farklı kültürlerden yorumlamaları üniversite gibi bir ortamda, öğrencilerin yaşam alanına katmaktır. Gece gündüz durmadan ilerleyen proje, okul içi duvar çalışmalarını içermekle birlikte kampüs dışına da çıkmış, İstanbul sokaklarındaki çalışmalar ile de kendini göstermiştir. Bu projede sanatçıların tümü gönüllü çalışmış, özellikle Canavar, Ares, Gvsk, Frz, Ill ve Mad Kilyos ayazına direnerek duvarlarını boyamışlardır. 11 Aralık’ta bitirilen proje sonunda geriye kampüs griliğini yok eden, sokak sanatını yaşatan duvarlarla, ‘otosansür’e maruz kalmış bir duvar kampüste varlığını sürdürmektedir.
