My Pet Frog
This short experiment was created in two stages: a pass capturing only the pencil animation, and a pass capturing still shots of my hand on a dark background, both synchronized to a single timeline in Digicel Flipbook. The keying out of the dark background and compositing of the two passes was done in After Effects.

Boom!
An early student assignment originally made as a 5" x 7" notecard flipbook. I captured each notecard as a frame and added horribly low quality and royalty-free sound effects.

Pig Roast
My first student animatic project, in which I had to choose from a list of general "themes" and elaborate with simple moving storyboards and sound. I chose a scene involving two hitmen preparing to kill a target. Music: "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd.

Smunky Foke
Project objective: create any kind of motion or imagery based upon a song chosen from a limited selection. I bought some incense, bummed a cigarette, took my digital camera into my room and started recording smoke plumes. When my original assumption that making smoke rings would be easy turned out to be completely false, I scrounged up some fuzzy yarn and used it to animate the smoke rings on a flat black surface. Keying, coloring & compositing in After Effects. Music: "No Agreement" by Fela Kuti.

The Nut Job
Part of a two-part assignment to create a narration using 20 still images as the foundation. Photos of Savannah and a Google image search for businessmen and hound dogs all came together in Photoshop to create the stills, which were then finished off with subtle motion in After Effects. Music: "Oxford You Really Owe Me" by Soul Position.
