Stella Soomlais is ambitious designer of leather goods － bags, wallets, wristbands, belts. Moving from custom bags to product she needed a brand that would work on various sizes and look good on leather. 

 

As the most obvious design choice, using the initials SS have (still) a strong connection to Schutzstaffel, I worked on single S that would still carry a hint of double letter and also expresses the nature of leather as a stiff two-sided material.

Logo versions were tested on material first: whether to use filled or line based image?

In typographical treatment I started with the idea of sewn type, having the connecting threads visible.
