Didot - Promoting the Typeface Poster to showcase the best features of Didot
University project focused on promoting a typeface as 'the best' - I was assigned Didot and drew parallels between its status as a classically French typeface and the features of fine French wine. The brief specified the use of typography only, without altering letterforms; I noticed that the 'Y' as a wine glass would give weight to the wine analogy while also showcasing the font's features as noted in the copy.
Before landing on the idea of the wine/typeface similiarity, I toyed with alluding to French classic style/fashion, again appropriating various letterforms to act as ribbons or scarfs along with a focus in the copy towards classic style.
