The Cultivated Diet - Health Food Kit
The Cultivated Diet is a kit I wrote and designed that re-envisions the health food cookbook. Rather than compiling content in a linear book form, the components are separated into practical booklets and cards for easy access, all arranged in a wooden box that can slide on a shelf like a book or be hung on the wall like a spice rack. Six indexed booklets list the 125 healthiest foods by food category, each with a description of that food’s nutrition content, particular health benefits, and healthiest way of cooking alongside a sketch. Another six leaflets organize information surrounding making healthy choices: 1) rationale discusses the Diet’s philosophy on eating clean; 2) buzzwords explains the important and nonsensical food labelling that is commonly used; 3) prevention details the connection between diet and specific disease prevention; 4) preparation is an encyclopedia of healthy food preparation methods; 5) proportions includes a poster of servings sizes and ratios and lists recommended daily requirements for every nutrient; 6) nutrients outlines all the macro and micronutrients required for life, what each does and what foods contain them. Additionally, the kit includes 125 recipe cards organized by meal type and useful packets to get started like sprouting mesh and seeds
