This was a new one for us. For their 50th anniversary promotion, Peet's Coffee wanted to show a solid gold coffee bean - or at least it had to appear to be a solid gold bean. This time it was Second Assistant Pete who made it happen. He described the project like this,
"The challenge was preserving the detail of the bean's nooks and crannies because we were shooting so close up. Ordinary gold leaf techniques made the bean look clogged up and goopy. I like figuring things out."
