Having seen a great success in 2010, Hello Wood, now under its new name, was held for the second time in 2011. The event has grown significantly, with 55 students arriving from 11 Hungarian and European universities. Besides more participants, it also had more workshops: Hello Wood now included typography and film too. In 2011 for the first time Hello Wood was held in the picturesque Csórompuszta, situated in the Balaton Upland. The artworks created during the art camp were first exhibited on the opening day of the Valley of Arts festival in Kapolcs then they travelled to Sziget Festival and the Budapest Design Week.
From the beginning the goal of the program was to create in mixed teams formed of students from different institutions, each led by a well-known representative of a relevant design profession. This system offers a unique opportunity of mixing generations and forming friendships that reach well beyond the confines of the universities involved. An important aspect of the artworks created during Hello Wood is to relate to the environment as well as to reflect on it.
