Branding design for Sydney based electronic music label Of Leisure.
Client: NEON RECORDS

I've been asked to make the logo with the funky 80s vibe, accompanied by the character in various leisure activities. And they also wanted to make it wearable.
So to get inspired, I went to a local antique book store, and dig into a pile of hundreds smelly 80s fashion magazines. In THE FACE 1989 I found the 'Thanks Girls' scribble that became my main reference. The painted decorative shapes insignia inspired by the design patterns is a simple badge which is also used separately on the records and covers.
The funny thing is that I also found this old DURAN DURAN poster in a bathroom with the illustration by Patrick Nagel, so I've made my own version and suggested to make this iconic illustration style the Of Leisure character. Of course it's also the best strategy to make someone want to wear your logo - it just has to look cool.
