New Odessa restaurant Kotelok will tell you a story about how a  restaurateur and authors of the  project are committed to their profession, about Black Sea region cuisine and good wine, about art and author’s movie. First things first. The first independent project is a great responsibility. That is why, the new restaurant’s ideamonger and co-founder, Nadezhda, reverently treated all stages of work: first she was nourishing the concept of the restaurant, then she spent half a year looking for a proper location. Kiev studio YOVA YAGER hospitality design headed by Yova Yager were developing the interior design. They, in their turn, invited for collaboration Alexandr Martynyuk, architect from Odessa, as well as fashion designer and great artist Masha Reva, who created a drawing for a stained-glass ceiling. Despite the fact that there had been another restaurant on the premises, and it was recently redecorated, the decision was taken to dismantle unnecessary equipment. Thanks to this approach, shelly soil emerged accidentally in the kitchen. It was preserved behind the glass, being illuminated.

80-square meter area can seat 48 people and it has a big bar counter combined with open kitchen. Interior design was inspired by Wes Anderson’s film “The Darjeeling Limited”. The rhythm of the film, its cast, impeccable shots and decorations – they all occupied their proper places in the restaurant. Wall board color and texture, sofas and tables, as well as a stained-glass ceiling - they do resemble a train carriage from Anderson’s film. Except that in Odessa restaurant the ceiling is embellished with Masha Reva’s pictures and they tell us about mussels’ life. Artist’s stained glass plays the first fiddle and easily  combines different textures: plywood, gold, brass, marble, concrete, glass, green velvet (myrtle green), metal tables with azure paint stains, red leather upholstered chairs, mixed up with wooden stools.

Новый одесский ресторан Kotelok – история о любви к своему делу ресторатора и авторов проекта, о черноморской кухне и хорошем вине, о дизайне, арте и авторском кино. Но обо всем по порядку. Первый самостоятельный проект – большая ответственность. Поэтому идеолог и соучредитель нового ресторана Надежда трепетно отнеслась ко всем этапам: сперва тщательно продумывала его концепцию, а затем полгода искала подходящие помещение. К работе над интерьером привлекла киевскую студию Kley Design во главе с Йовой Ягер. А та в свою очередь пригласила к сотрудничеству Александра Мартынюка, архитектора из Одессы, а также фэшн-дизайнера и отличного художника Машу Реву, придумавшую графику для витражного потолка ресторана.
