A good friend of ours (a History teacher) had the plan to combine creating a game with his class as an learning experience. And also to make this game playable for other classes to learn more about the Dutch trading boats in the 17th century. 

Making a game with a group of kids is a great opportunity to get a lot, and i mean a lot of great out of the box ideas.
 
The game is played with a dice that has only 1,2 and 3 on it. The players have wooden boats as pawns.
Every route has different things happening to the player, and at every harbor they can trade. 
The game revolves around questions that connect to the subject taught in this part of the history course
