Logo
Concept: The name of Beijing stadium in China is well known as a Bird’s nest. I wanted to keep the focus on the strokes used showing the strokes in its different heights and thicknesses. My main concept that the signage and and the logo was based on is using an “r” shaped stroke as a grid for everything. This shows hpw the signs are designed to be 90 degrees from the bottom, yet curved from the top.
Logo: The Logo shows 2 major points. Firstly, the name of the mall “Rimaj Mall”, as well as shows the side view “Shape” of the building. The side view is the same from all directions. It has also different stroke thicknesses to illustrate the idea of a bird’s nest.
Name: I chose the name Rimaj because it is sound coming out of a bird. Since the building is well known as a bird’s nest, it would be nice to have a name that speaks the message.
Signs and Symbols
The whole signage system is based on the concept mentioned above. The shape with the 90 derees from the bottom, and curved from the top, drawing the same lines found in the bird’s nest building.
