S y c a m o r e M a p l e
The natural monument sycamore maple in Mellau Bregenzerwald. These trees stands completely free, so a fully enclosed crowns could develop. The leafs were once used for obtaining leaf litter for apline farming, They are more than 300 years old and probably the most impressive sycamore maple of the whole country. The most powerful single tree has a circumference of about 7m, his crown diameter is estimated at 30m. A slope of the ski resort Mellau-Damüls goes near this area. So it was a welcome change for me to capture this trees at my family skiing day.
