The Journey Begins

In 2011, I began to take pictures.  My friend had intrigued me through a High School Black and White Photo competition, I got hooked.  The way a picture can stir emotions, tell a story, be interpreted so many different ways started to interest me.

In the summer I went on a Scout Camp and took a little Point-and-Shoot camera.  These are some of the pictures I took.

Please let me know if you have any advice, or what you think of my pictures!  Thanks!
This is the cover picture for this project.
I also like this one more.

What I like are the shadows in the clouds and in the grass close to the edges.  I also like how the path is more suggested than completely defined.  I enjoy the feeling from this picture.
This picture was taken around mid day.Since I was just starting out it is on 'auto' mode.I like the path way and how it is not totally straight, but it suggests a good, long, happy path.
This one I tried using the macro feature on my camera.

To me I like the detail in the plant, since you can see the almost halo like rings around the leaves, with good shadow. It also has depth of field, with the tree in the background starting to become out of focus.

However, I do not like the sun in the corner. It is to distracting. As well as the tree in the background, if it was gone I think it could be better!
Well, this one was also with the macro option.
I do like the depth of field.
I do not like how there is not one thing to focus on, and it is a little busy.
I hope that you can tell this picture was taken at night.
I like the silhouet of the trees.
I think this would have been a lot better with a different / better camera.

With this one I tried to decrease the shutter speed so that it would have a longer exposure. I also turned up the ISO.  As you can see, it really increased the noise.

This picture was one of my first attempts at people.

I like how relaxed the subject is, as well as how the lighting is pretty clear.

I do not think this is a very good picture though.  the other packs are in focus and serve to be distracting.
So that was my attempt at digital film over the summer at my camp.

Let me know what you think,
      please!
