]Unlock Hour[ - Poster Design

National Geographic Channel has a program, designed and launched in India,
targeting school kids of all grades (primary till secondary). The response was positive.
This co-curricular activity focuses on nature and experiments where students get to learn outside
of their classrooms. NGC wants to adapt and adopt the program to Malaysia schools by
introducing a pilot program covering 10 sessions.
Keeping the phrase 'unlock hour' in mind, I generated a couple of
keywords through a mini brainstorm session. This helped me focus
on what kind of elements to go on the design and better framed my
visual representation for the programme.
'reveal / uncover / discover / open up'
Through a couple of sketches I have arrived to implimenting a
physical lock design. The interactive poster allows the audience
to reveal the glimpses of the 10 classes of the programme.

10 icons will be designed and converted into pin badges that
students can collect when they have attended and completed the
classes as a reward.
Our first approach was heading towards simple and flat design,
however me and my team were not confident that this style was going to be
appealing to our young audience (11-14). Hence we have decided to go
for a more suitable route revolving the 2 words below:
 'Adventurous x Mysterious'

The client wanted the design to be in line with the existing Nat Geo look and feel,
thus the art direction was tweaked to a cleaner approach.
-
Button Pin Badges
Each of the classes will be giving a pin badge as a collectible
for the participants. The module is divided into 10 different classes,
hence the 10 design representation.
