Augmented Reality content creation based on branded assets and animation from LEGO Group Europe, for use in a print-based target system developed with a series of LEGO magazines and catalogs. 3d Assets were built in Maya, rendered in realtime through Augmented Reality app LEGO Connect for Android and iOS, built by Quad/Graphics and Daqri using a proprietary AR platform.
Above is the final in-app realtime rendering on an iPad. The initial animations were set up in Maya, then finished in Unity for use in the Augmented Reality App LEGO Connect.
Once the animations were built, the targeting was set up to sync with the print images mounted on the stage (below), and a previsualization was created for client approval.
