Tentacled Monocled Sir
For some digital illustration practice, I created this fancy octopus, enjoying a book with his top hat and monocle. I had a lot of fun adding the textures to his skin, and drawing in all the detail of his tentacles and suckers. He worked perfectly for a poster design promoting children's literacy, suggesting that a book can act as a portal to take you to endless places in your own imagination. With this fun illustration, I learned a lot about lighting, the power of having two different light sources on an illustration, and layering (lots and lots of layering)!
Copies of Tentacled Monocled Sir (and other products featuring the artwork) are available for sale in my Society6 shop.
