This one's a two-fer.

 

Portfiolio ShowCase is an annual book released by The Center for Fine Art Photography. Each addition features 15 photographers, each of those photographers have 12 images from one of their current projects published in the book. The juror for Portfolio ShowCase VIII was Gordon Stettinius of Candela Books + Gallery, also known for his highly amusing Mangini Studio Series.

 

This was my third year designing Portfolio ShowCase. The project consists of designing the layout, image order, cover design based on juror's pick or director's choice, typesetting, collaborating with client on info, editing/double checking, organizing, pre-press, working one-on-one with the print vendor, proofing and delivering the final product to the client. 

 

Normally after creating a book I photograph the printed hardcopy and put them up on my site. This time I decided it would be a great excuse to start playing with After Effects. I'm slowly working my way into learning the program with the intention of creating motiona graphics and title sequencing as well as editing time-lapse photography. The video was created for my website portfolio and for any promotional use my client would be interested in using it for.
