The design went through several colour iterations. My team and I initially wanted white ink on brown cardboard paper for the final product. When we did our printing research, we found that the white ink process was separate from colour or black ink printing, and as a result it cost much more.
I did a few passes: one in all black ink, and another in the red, white and black design above. Both the black ink and colour pass were designed to be printed on white card stock.
In the end, we decided on springing a few more bucks on the white ink process, and the end result blew us away.
The lettering is Argyle Script and Photograph but I've morphed them to fit the shape I wanted. I later added the lines and dots to accent the typography.
On the inside of the card, we left ample room for writing our well-wishes. There's only 3 of us in the team, but we have big hearts and lots to say to our clients and subcontractors. I wrote a small one-liner in KG Always A Good Time Typeface.
I also incorporated a small director's chair graphic from Seven Arts Typeface.
The lettering for our Boldly brand is Moon Typeface with supportive type in Calibri.
