Avante
a video recorder for ballet dancers
Avante means to 'move forward' in ballet. Avante breaks the molds of tradition in dance by giving access to tools to create digital media. Avante also uses 3D sensors as a teaching tool and to prevent injury.
This project was inspired by the struggles of aspiring professional ballet dancers, whose biggest concerns were stress and injury. Avante seeks to also create connections by creating access to existing social media and video sharing tools such as youtube.
