A long-time client of three steps ahead, the Gallatin School ofIndividualized Study came to us to update and rework the “AlumniAchievements” booklet that we had designed many years previous. Wechose to integrate richer versions of the school’s officialcolors--violet and gold--as our printing inks, with metallic gold addedfor extra prestige-factor. Our choice of typefaces reflects our goal ofmaking this the most elegant and graceful of Gallatin’s promotionalcollateral, while peppering the main serif with a contrastingsans-serif face to reflect the school’s novel and cutting-edge appeal.
Once typesetting was complete, we finished the piece witha continuous “pen-down” John Lennon-style line drawing. Inspired inlarge part by Harold and the Purple Crayon, it meanders from cover to cover, forming images that reflect the subject matter of each page.
The finished piece is an 8" × 8" booklet, masterfully printed on matte stock.
