Beanie Coffee Maker

The Beanie Coffee Maker is inspired by the shape of the coffee bean. I have experimented with different ways to design a coffee machine with sketches. My preliminary sketches draw inspiration from everyday objects such as stationaries and even animals. I have also looked at existing coffee machines in the market as a guide to designing my coffee machine. The Beanie Coffee Maker is organic in shape and have free-flowing lines to appeal to the urban dwellers. Taking into account the constraint of space in an urban dweller’s home, the design of the coffee machine is one that is compact and does not take up much space.

There are few buttons on the coffee machine to make selections easier. Operating instructions have been programmed into the machine and the user would receive step-by-step instructions to operate the coffee machine. There is a hidden canister to hold coffee beans. In order to prevent hot water from spilling out, a handle is added to the design like a shield as a mean of protection. The handle is also able to be removed easily with the press of the buttons at both sides of the coffee maker. A water tray is added to the design to allow any liquid that has spilled to be drained away.

The Beanie Coffee Maker measures 350 x 180 x 362 mm and is able to hold any cups/mugs/glasses that measures up to 130mm in depth.
