In 2010, the Anchorage School Board, which is the governing body of the Anchorage School District, created a visionary plan for district-wide achievement titled "Destination 2020". Components of the plan included a mission, vision, the goals themselves and their performance measures, core values, and operating principles.

 

In an effort to more clearly communicate the plan, a "Framework for Success" was designed in 2015 which organized each of these around four key areas of focus: Students, Staff, the Community, and Services. The Destination 2020 web page was also redesigned to visually reflect this organization, and to simplify the way in which it was communicated to online audiences. This is the result.
