At the 2012Georgia Regional Future City Competition, hosted on the campus of SouthernPolytechnic State University, student teams must choose one energy source anddesign a way to generate electric power for their city that does not depletenatural resources and has a limited impact on the environment. To solve thisproblem student teams plan and design virtual cities using SimCity 4 software,build models with recycled materials and a budget of only $100, research andwrite a solution to an engineering problem, write a narrative describing theircity, and present their ideas before a panel of judges.
