Exposición Mapeando la Ciencia

The Foundations 1 course of the MA in Design at Los Andes University in partnership with El Observatorio Colombiano de Ciencia y Tecnología (The Colombian Observatory of Science and Technology), The School of Informatics & Computing of Indiana University Bloomington and the Creative Coding Lab of Illinois University in Chicago, presented the exhibition Mapeando la Ciencia (Mapping Science) on November 17, 2015.
The first section exhibits the revolutionary project of Indiana University directed by the distinguished professor Katy Börner.
The second section exhibits the visualizations created by a multidisciplinary group of students of the MA in Design about some collected data from The Colombian Observatory of Science and Technology about science in our country.
I took part in the creation of two interactive visualizations made in Processing.

The 2D visualization shows the percentage of researchers by gender in Colombia. The user can navigate through it while it shows the data in different research fields and some information related to research groups.
The 3D visualization shows data related to scholarships and loans for study given in the country in different fields. When the user lowers the cursor, it shows the information of the past years since 2004 until 2013.
