For this project I took the same geometric shapes and refigured them three times. First with wood, then metal, and then wood and metal, I played with line and color. The structures rely on delicate weight distribution to grow into the horizontal negative space and are all less than two feet tall. I showed these pieces at the show "Spring Thaw" in the University of Buffalo's North Campus and then again at "Elavotor Out OF Order" another UB show which took place in silo city. At the second show I also created a large scale follow up piece in which rail road ties are the structures which are sprouting from the window of a building at Silo City. There were two occupied windows which lay opposite one another in an allyway between buildings. The growths have steel roots growing out of the corners of the windows.
