Black and white version, finally all was drawn on Illustrator.
Some pictures of the magazine. As you can see all was kind of kitch with that pinky color, so was the illustration.
Little bit on the process.
Below some sketches, or better say, fail attemps of finding the right pose.
So, finally I did that dirty old trick of the photo. I took some of them with a go pro camera because the fisheye matched perfect with the idea I had, choose the prefered one and import to illustrator.
I like to work with the context the illustration is going to be, so I also imported the pdf with the reportage layout they sent to me.
This time all happened inside the Illustrator.
It was quite hard finding the right color for the lights, but finally the pink did de job quite well. I thought that it was going to be too pinky but now I don't think so.
I like colouring the things with more or less "real" colors, or so, and then transform them via blending "magic" with and overlapping layer, that gives everything some uniformity. This time the layer were the lights.
At last, export as a bitmap image, crop, put it on CMYK mode, be sure there is not color change, and send it!
