Go RIT: A Transportation Experience
At the Rochester Institute of Technology there is one glaring problem for students that live on-campus, but don't have cars: the public transportation.
My team and I built a transportation app that:
- Would allow quick access to the RIT Shuttle schedules, the reservation site for the Zipcar, carsharing program, and the reservation site for the Bikeshare program.
- Helps students identify new routes and transportation options to locations around Rochester.
- The system will inform students of the best transportation option based on the weather, transportation cost, travel distance, and travel time.
- The system will also help users navigate what users perceive as unnecessarily complicated systems, by prompting things like when the bus is about to arrive, or when your stop is coming up.
I was primarily responsible for building the wireframes, comps, and final designs for the mobile version of the app. My group members then based the tablet and desktop versions of the app off of those original designs.
The process involved wireframing, mobile comps, creating and researching potential users, building user flows, personas, and more. You can view the whole process deck here.
