For Ritchie Navigation, I started with the most basic requirement that boaters need out of a marine compass; to not get lost. Within the scope of the creative brief, we stayed with a serious tone, offering only a slight amount of levity with the maze imagery on the left page.
Like all assignments, I added additional criteria to the assignment—that it stand apart from all other ads within the same publication.
