Design Without Borders (2016)

As a part of The University of Edinburgh's Innovative Learning Week programme, the Edinburgh University Design Society presented a two-day workshop and exhibition involving a city-wide scavenger hunt, shelter building and surprise challenges, promoting the use of design to tackle problems faced by displaced individuals worldwide.

Final structures and designs were displayed as an interactive exhibition, open to the public as well as a guest-list of high-profile specialists and professionals, allowing participants to discuss their ideas with an invested audience.
Donations upon entry of the exhibition benefited Shelterbox, a humanitarian charity that provides emergency shelter and supplies to support those affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

A series of informational zines were created to promote the workshop and exhibition, the A6 zines featuring a large A3 poster on the back to be hung up in public spaces. Typography and layout are inspired by a pastiche of choices, reflecting fully the flexibility and adapatability of Design Without Borders.
