Cook up a book from scratch. The concept is recent family history, community as each recipe comes from a friend or relative. I came up with the creative direction and designed the entire A5 spiral bound recipe book. There are influences of tartan 'stripes' used as area dividers on pages, this comes from Lizzie's Scottish background, whilst the 1940's aesthetic influence is inspired by the era she lived and brings out the community spirit from the times. I brought in pull quote circular paint devices, these help to add colour interest and draw the eye in whilst suggesting a handy tip and making up space on the shorter recipes. Vintage postcards and envelopes feature to keep the concept running throughout, including the blank recipe pages for cooks to get involved.
