Life Water Museum
Oeiras, Portugal
This building is intended to symbolize a “Water Temple”, able to contribute to an essential and inspiring architecture, which will have the task of making society aware to the importance of water in our lives.
Its casing, or outer layer, form an abstract kinetic façade, consisting of bottles suspended by flexible rods, which relate to the excess consumption of this essential commodity.
Its interior, in contrast, recreates the production of the cycles of water, forming in its core a “Factory of Rain”, which will be
converted in to a “Permanent Installation” of this museum. The remaining floors, in “open space” are developed around the “Factory of Rain”, with the top floor dedicated to a restaurant over looking the main lobby, or rain room. Oeiras, Portugal (2012).
