Vision based Soccer Ball FIFA Conformance Solution
 An industry sponsored project funded by AKI Ltd Sialkot, Pakistan (Sole manufacturers of Derbystar™ and Select™ Brands). The Solution was completed in 6 months duration including R&D and fabrication of the first prototype. First ever industrial scale vision sensor based football conformance solution. The solution can process 4000 balls per 10 hour shift. The machine is currently in operation at AKI Sialkot. Removal of lens anomalies was accomplished by adjusting camera calibration matrix. Image Segmentation was achieved using modified Watershed algorithm and RANSAC 3D hough transform was used to Detect and localize defective area on the soccer ball surface. Solution ensures conformance to FIFA approved circumference, sphericity and weighing standards. Mechanical modeling and electro-pneumatic control was a significantly involved apart from vision based solution development. I was the team lead and principal investigator for this project. Machine ensures +-1mm accuracy in circumference observation and +-0.1 mm accuracy in shape deformity observation.
