Recently I completed a project for our client Education Queensland International. The project was to create a public-facing website built on the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 CMS platform. Because it is a Queensland Government website, certain limitations are immediately placed upont he designer and developer roles.
This includes adhering a specific set of rules known as the CUE guidelines (Consistent User Experience) and making sure that the website is completely WCAG 2.0 A + AA accessible.
I've provided a snapshot of the wireframes we developed along with the high fidelity designs plus a sample of the iconography used within the site.
Where possible we utilise SVG spritesheets to provide small filesize, low latency and high clarity imagery. It does present it's own challenges such as modifyin the SVG XML code to make sure that size aspect ratios and embedded CSS is honored. But the advantage is well worth it!
