Marg is a publishing house based in Mumbai. It began as a magazine by the same name in 1946. It is a magazine dedicated to the Arts. As a part of my graduation project I redesigned the magazine since they wanted something new and different. I redesigned the contents for the September 2014 issue.
One of the main features of the redesign is the use of textured backgrounds that can be seen in most articles' opening spreads. Each article is designed in two colours which complement the images of the article.
An interesting feature of the redesign is the addition of pull-out quotes which are set against the small textured backgrounds. All the textures used in this issue are water coloured and have been created by me.
Each article transitions from one to another in a very unique and interesting way, with the use of the textured backgrounds. It gives the reader a glimpse of what is to come next.
The magazine is divided in to separate sections, these are the section tags. These have been designed with the use of small cut outs from images within each section.
