In a controlled environment, bacteria grows only around given food, in this case: yeast.

We took advantage of this property to model the sprouting shape and create letters with it.

 

Petri dishes were used to form the word: “Colonia”(cologne).

After 6 days we poured natural dyes to give each letter a special colour.
 

This project was accomplished together with the Biology Sciences Department and the Microbiology Laboratory at Los Andes university.
