Launched in December 2015, Powering the Future is a £1.6million exhibition project from Glasgow Science Centre. It aims to explore the challenges and solutions presented by our energy-hungry world in the 21st Century.
Employed as a Graphic Designer, it was my role to create the brand style for the exhibition space. Secondly, I had to produce marketing material aligned with the brand.

The brief challenged me to reduce the complicated subject matter into a clear and cohesive visual language. Those visuals required a sense of the mechanics and interconnectivity of the energy industry. Couple with that the overall feel had to be minimal, bright and playful.
In terms of marketing, the focus was on the challenge of the energy trilemma: How can we make our energy sources sustainable, affordable, secure? The final solution chosen is based on the impossible triangle. Displaying both the trilemma and the journey of energy, with the skewed angles prompting viewers to take a different look at the subject.
