I have been working with a local Theatre Group called the Woodhouse Players over a 2 year period and had become almost a permenent fixture as the Costume designer / Warderobe Mistress on a series of productions. From period classics such as "Still Life" by Noel Coward to 60's Monochrome gritty one Act Plays like "Ruffian on the Stair" by Joe Orton. For the most part the process of this role includes research into period costume, in depth discussions with the Director to understand their final vision and a large amount of hunting out the perfect items for each character from a range of sources: The Theatre Groups own Costume Wardrobe, Vintage & Charity Shops, Ebay and finally making and adapting specialist peices where needed.
