"Jedi". I was inspired by the Star Wars: The Force Awakens posters. Specifically Rey's poster. The lighting in it is gorgeous. I attempted to replicate it as best as I could with my Canon 430 exII, a softbox, and a reflector. Behind me was natural light from the window. These images and the video below show the process from start to finish.
Step 1: Skin retouching. The left photograph is straight out of camera with no edits made. The right is with skin retouching and slight dodging and burning to the skin.
Step 2 & 3: Creating the lightsaber and final edits. After the image as a portrait was looking good, I was ready to create the lightsaber. After it was constructed in Adobe Photoshop, I opened it in Lightroom and touched up the image overall to give it the look and feel I was looking for. I also re-constructed the background slightly due to the original being too distracting.
