One of three brutal sacrificial suicides told in reverse to promote the forthcoming television series Damien, a continuation of the film The Omen. They are inspired by an iconic moment from the film in which a follower exclaims “Damien! It’s all for you!” before leaping to her death. I wanted to expand on that moment by dilating time and crawling around within the crushing seconds between a follower’s exclamation and their ultimate sacrifice.
These are weightless slow motion nightmares.
The stories are told in reverse, dragging the viewer head first into our world, demanding they puzzle over what could have lead any person to such a horrifying conclusion. The realization that it is an act of devotion punctuates the films with a disturbing chill.
