Lacking Sound Festival 100
The Most Genuine Sound Art Performance in Taiwan
The Lacking Sound Festival is one of the most prestigious events for experimental sound artists in Taiwan.
It was founded by a group of sound artists who saw the lack of platform and community for this creative medium, therefore this monthly performance event was born. It has been running continuously for the past eight years, now the Lacking Sound Festival does not only introduce international new talents, but also dedicates themselves to documenting and producing theory writing on the Taiwanese sound art scene.
We focus on the Chinese typography, aiming to reflect the artists as the centre piece of the performance.
The hollow lined characters mimic the image of the digital sound waves and the texts are lined up with inconsistent spacing to create a distorted effect on the synthesizer visually. To further contextualize the sound element of the project, the pendulum shaped graphic is lined up to trigger the imagination of the sense of sound from the viewers. The spacing between the circular shape depicts the crashing and movement of the object.
