I'm leaving college-life in Santa Barbara for a get-away-weekend with some dear friends from back home.
After a near weekend collapse that started right of the bat at Santa Barbara airport, including delay, changed flight schedule and a sleepless night I finally arrive.
The Big Apple, the city that never sleeps.. my expectations are already very high and I blame everything from Seinfeld to How To Make It In America.
New York doesn't disappoint, it delivers on all its promises.

I swore when I went there that I would't be that guy who goes on and on about it but I now see.. I get it.

I'll quote Zimmerman to get my point across.

"Old New York City is a friendly old town
From Washington Heights to Harlem on down
There’s a-mighty many people all millin’ all around
They’ll kick you when you’re up and knock you when you’re down
It’s hard times in the city
Livin’ down in New York town"
It takes me a while to figure out the subway-system and I try not to introduce to many colors or numbers in the equation. The feeling of disorientation when I get up at street-level is the downside to the distance covered in the 20-30 min spent underground, but It's always the fastest way to get around.
Roaming the streets of NY.. walking and more walking. Times Square at evening time gets really busy as you could imagine, it's time to realize that your body can only take so much.. go home and rest.
Flee-market and a trip to Brooklyn. Strolling up and down in Williamsburg and by request stoping at every little vintage-store that pops up along the way.. and I'll let you in on a little secret: there are more than one.. let's leave it at that.
Spending the last day in the city looking upward.. literary. Skyscrapers have the opposite effect on me as the smartphone has. And then on the other hand when we stop for coffee the first thing I do is look for Wi-fi.
