The new owner of this cafe/restaurant with a focus on all kinds of beer, wanted to create an atmosphere of nostalgia with a modern touch.
His menu shows a list of classic and well known dishes from the area, but I know from experience they are of very high quality, often created in an unexpected way and presented in a beautiful modern style.
The re-opening of the cafe was executed in a very short time period, so the design of the menus and other printed material did not meet the quality standard and style that fit the cafe. In my designs I tried to emphasise the 'nostalgia' element without creating an old fashioned look and I also tried to add the sense of quality the dishes and restaurant deserve.
To make sure the designs were unique and recognizable for the customers, I used photos from the cafe itself instead of stock images from a database.

On the left you see the old drinks menu, where all beverages including the beers were on the same menu.
Since this is a beer cafe and many beers were added to the menu, I decided to split them up in a main menu with only the beers and a small extra card that contained the other beverages. It can easily be slipped inside the beer menu and that is also the way it is presented to the customers.

Both sides of the old and new drinks menus

The new menu is a stable folder with changable menus inside.

The new flyer is two-sided and is not only about the 'Sinterklaas' feast anymore, but for the whole month of December

'End of the year' menus

I know, it's very red. I created another version that was less red, but the owner really loved the red, so we kept this one ;-)

The children's menu. This is a simple white sheet of paper for single use: if they have to wait for their food, they can start coloring!

'End of the year' and basic Facebook cover

Gift voucher. The old vouchers were all sold out, so I have no example of the old one.

Banner for the outside wall of the builfding. Because it is a historic building, the municipality did not allow the owner to screw a new logo on the wall. Since there were already a lot of nails in the wall, we decided to use these to hang a large banner at the place where we would like the logo. This way, the banner can be taken off at any moment.

A pillar near the entrance. The print will change regularly.
