New York Rangers Video Overlay
The NYR organization requested an "app" that would present team statistics, hockey news and custom messages composited with live video on screen. Quartz Composer, a Mac-only visualization tool, had to be used. I determined that a Kineme Quartz plug-in was necessary for success. The plug-in retrieves web pages as text files and with JavaScript string manipulations, table data from NHL.com is parsed, converted to Quartz structures and re-formatted back into tables. The news is an RSS feed and selectable from multiple feeds. The custom message is populated by an email sent by management. Users may choose to view only stats, only news, or a combination of both (pictured).

Glass Visualizer

Created for the production manager of an architecture glass manufacturer, the app allows you to preview multiple laminated glass plane designs by tilting horizontal and vertical. Images can be loaded into each layer and swapped if desired. Written with AS3.

DaveCorreia.com
My Flash-based website is driven with XML, supplying all data for content population. Page icons are dynamically created when entering each Portfolio section. XPath is used to parse data by XML key names. Images are external and loaded on demand reducing bandwidth and initial load time.

Timerz Multiple Timer
I needed to track time on multiple projects and created an application with 24 timers with notations, color-coding, manually edited times, and a save/autosave feature to save timer values. XML provides the layout which is dynamically created on an empty stage. I use it on my Mac and PCs.

Xplana eLearning Modules
Various eLearning module templates were created for Houghlin/Mifflin. The modules rendered content from XML files I created and randomized questions and menu choices. Clicking the 'Reset' button also randomizes the choices. I wrote code to create numerator-over-denominator fractions and custom exponents from special text markup I added in the XML. Drag and drop tiles solved equations. Comments for right and wrong answers were added to the text field. External graphics were imported.

incrediCalc
Built for my sake in ActionScript 3 as I always wanted a multi-memory calculator. IncrediCalc currently has 4 memories but is scalable so more can be added. It has a history pane and notes may be added. The result can be selected and copied. I added keyboard support and a help popup for keyboard instructions. I published it as an app and intend to use it often as my primary calculator. Still in alpha testing, I would to like to support chained calculations, decimal place length precision or an integer setting, and maybe some other math functions (pi, square root, etc.)

Drive website
Created with Flash, the site incorporates dynamic content for the 'Gigs' and 'Songs' links, which will be constantly updated. Code was written for random logo effects, background effects, and sound volume control.

The George Bush Pretzel Game
A Flash interactive nutshell game inspired by the president himself. While visiting Japan, George W. choked on a pretzel he was eating. I conceived the game idea and programmed the logic necessary to allow viewers to choose 1 of 3 treats (including a pretzel). Illustration by Lisa Kelly of http://www.pixel-artistry.com.

Aardvark Design Portfolio
Aardvark Design of Providence, RI required a Flash animation to present their online portfolio. I took supplied artwork and converted it into an interactive component. It features some zoom-able samples and a video.

Spiral Graphics Lab
Inspired by Spirograph, I wrote Spiral Graphics Lab to create intriguing step and repeat spirals. Choice of color and transparency enhance this version. The interface is not fully developed. The program is in beta testing.

DO IT or SCREW IT
My Flash prototype of the popular TV game 'Deal or No Deal'. DO IT or SCREW IT works on the premise of choosing a single case with an unknown value of up to $1 million and picking other cases to eliminate other potential values. A 'Banker' calls after a number of picks offering to purchase the case. If the offer is declined, more cases must be opened.

 IncrediBINGO
The IncrediBINGO prototype allows the player to pit 3 Bingo cards against a computer opponent. Number drawings are automatic at various speeds or manual (spacebar). Currently under development.

ClickTile Sliding Tile Game
ClickTile is a sliding tile game prototype that allowing users to customize the difficulty by choosing their own tile grids, selecting colors, textures and (potentially) photos. Animated "click" effects enhanced playability. I designed the interface and logo as temporary elements.

The New York Knicks CD Store
The New York Knicks CD was created in Director as a fan give-away and allowed a user to get team informantion and shop for products. I worked with art supplied from my director to assemble and program all the parts. The store was a Flash component embedded in Director. Orders would be electronically submitted or printed. A delimited text cast member held product data. I tracked purchases in lists and used another dynamic Flash component for the store interface.

The San Diego Chargers Mini CD
Sponsored by Sony and produced by Rhode Island Soft Systems and StadiumCD.com, this mini CD presentation was given to fans at a Chargers home game. I programmed the project from provided art. Player and cheerleader information was available. It also featured a Flash component to choose official Chargers products with links to the Charger's online store and links to Sony for online purchases of Sony cameras.

Moses Brown School
Heavy use of photography supported the school's message of providing a caring, well rounded education. I provided programming for supplied art and for an animated Flash menu (controlled by Director) and narration synch. I solved programming issues, devised a context-sensitive Flash help system, and edited photos to compensate for Mac gamma display differences. I prepared an autorun master for both Mac and PC platforms.

 Back Alley Blackjack
This is my presentation of Blackjack. I didn't like other games' annoying sounds, lack of splitting and doubling, ugly graphics and lack of hand totals. Designed as a self-running shareware application for PCs and Macs. Unregistered copy warnings are designed to bother with amusement and allows 35 hands to be played before quitting. Presently under beta testing.
