This animation is a response to a 40 second sound file provided by FACT Liverpool as a part of their exhibition “Shape of Sound”.

The idea for this project was to create a single colour moving visual representation of a real Kaleidoscope.
Not to copy one, but through sound and image to imitate the movements we all have seen whilst playing with them and looking through them as children, and to create shapes which respond to the audio yet retain the visual nuance of the original optical instrument.
