Route 66 rambles into Albuquerque from the Tijeras canyon. The road falls to the cool Rio Grande river. Long gone are the arroyos that carried water through sage brush and tumble weeds.
Dry concrete channels bleach in the sun along with the majestic Mother Road. Behind her curbs are buildings filled with forgotten dreams and hornet nests.
There is new life coming from these old buildings. The neon nights of the past are slowly being revived as people recognize the beauty in the nostalgia.
