Photographic Essay
The Totonac people from Papantla, Mexico, have preserved an ancient tradition involving music, traditional costumes and a daring flight. After climbing a pole, four of the participants launch themselves into a circular flight to descend, while a fifth participant remains at the top of the pole playing simultaneously a flute and a drum.

According to tradition, this ritual was created to ask for rain during a severe drought.
