Drone / quadcopter shots

Last year I made a various of shots for a drone event in the biggest shopping center of Utrecht. Four participants competed against eachother to achieve the best time and win the competition. The drones were actually quadcopters and equipped with LED light for additional clarity and ambience.
For filming these shots I used a Sony A7SII in combination with a Canon 16-35mm lens. To follow the quadcopters well I used a DJI Ronin stabilizer.
Because of the enormous speed of the quadcopters we wanted to create some slowmotions to get a clear view. The shot above is a stil from the film where a quadcopter almost didn't move.
There needed to be a clear view of the shopping center in this film. Therefore I used a wide angle lens, so not only the quadcopter, but also the shopping center would be clearly visible.
Some shot didn't work out very well, because of the difficulty of following a moving quadcopter. Also the drivers had trouble positioning the quadcopter by the lower speed then they are used to have normally. In the shot above two quadcopters crashed into eachother.
