'77 POSTERS' is a book based on original concept of Ewa Reeves, accompanying exhibition held in 2010 at British Film Institute. The book is juxtaposing British movie posters with Polish counterparts to British films mostly form 60s and 70s. Comparing and discovering posters: ideas, styles, means and metaphors of Polish and British artist delivers a lot of intellectual and aesthetical pleasure and comes with an interesting historical background.
Our priority in process of designing the book was to make it as huge as possible - to symulate poster's natural occurence. In order of putting reader in the mood of the content we used typography based on original typeface designed in communist era in Poland when the country was separated and disconnedted from world's cultural infulences, incubating uncanny style.
